Dendrobium phalaenopsis
 

I visited an orchid nuresry recently where many phal-type dendrobiums were in bloom. These are some of my favorite.

I can only see first three and the third from the last, but they are beautiful!

I see Sonia, Enobi Purple Splash, and Burana Pearl type hybrid.
I love these dendrobiums.

Many of those dendrobiums are very nice.

However, in the second set of photos you posted. there are two examples of mutations, which probably occurred during a cloning process or during the artificial propagation process. One of the mutations is a very severe & bad mutation … the first photo of your second set of postings. All of the flowers are extremely distorted, with 2 or 3 times the normal numbers of sepals, petals & even lips. And the flower parts are disorganized & fused together. This kind of mutation can occur when strong chemicals are used to quicken & promote the proliferation of plant tissue in the cloning process. More rarely, it can occur during propagation even by seed.

The other mutation is in the 3rd photo of this second batch of photos. This seems to be a more subtle type of mutation, creating a peloric flower. The petals are not quite normal, since they are a little pinched & they have dark markings, indicating that these petals are mimicking the lip & its markings. This mutation is not as severe & sometimes can be quite attractive. In this case the pinching of the petals detracts a little, but the petals' dark mimicking of the lip makes the flower interesting.

Oftentimes, there can be gradations of color on petals, but in this case, the two dark markings & their locations on each petal seem to be mimicking the two dark markings on the lip.

*** Not trying to be a downer, but this just seemed like an opportune time to point out & explain a couple of kinds of mutations which occur in flowers.

Beauty truly in the eyes of the beholder. That rose type dendrobium mutant is quite popular recently in Jakarta, rarely available though. I personally don't like it but the peloric one is quite lovely.

The one after the rose mutant, is it a tangerinum hybrid?

This plants are not labelled. But i also think it has tangerinum in it.
