It looks like you cut off three good roots unless they had rotting root tips that needed to be cut off.

If you want to save this plant, you might want to trim some leaves for water balance.
This phal has three cut off roots and one longer root and then a few huge leaves where it will lose lots of water.

Are you sure if had mites?

If this was mine and I wanted to save, I would cut off the leaves by half and probably completely off the badly marked ones, soak the whole plant in good antibacterial anti fungal drench. pat dry. pot up in moistened moss.

Spray growth stimulating stuff like mega thrive (foliar application) twice a month.

Keep the plant in bright and warm (so it would continue on growing as it already has a new leaf coming out).

It may take at least two years before this thing looks healthy and robust again, if it makes it.

Good luck!

Good Morning NYCorchidman,
Thank you and will do.
Yes, I have had a terrible past few weeks, because of a mite, and scale explosion and a possible bacterial infection. Havent totally narrowed the bacterial part of it yet but still working on it. That plant had both mites and scale(and some bacterial issueso did a few others.I think I have under control at the moment, that is until another hot spell. That is when all myproblems rise from dead and haunt me, lol. Alot of those marks on that plant are because of me trying to dig the scale out, I havent been able to afford to get anymore spray or pesticide as I have no income at the moment, cant even get the alcohol for spray sterilization. Ive been doing the fire method with hydrogen peroxide for tools and using the he household lysol. I had read that they can be popped off but it really didnt work that way, they seem to dig in further in a few cases can see the drop into leaf liquid and almost disappear. Its very warm and dry where I live and it activated a bomb. 3rd time this year the bomb hit, its starting to finally cool down, humidity rise around here(first time this year RH hit 61% inside)so that should really help.
Now with that, those three roots did have some rot, where you saw in pic was the place were it turned to mush for about inch then green hard for couple then back to mushy black. Those 3 were that way everything else was just a plain dark mushy mess including bottom of stem. But I will just keep plugging away.
I did go to San Joaquin Gardening Society and was told the pests were very bad this year due to our drought. They recommended getting some beneficial pests, but you thats money which I do not have right now.
I wish I could find where the entry point for these insects, I do have theory but I can share that with you later if you would like. Im just afraid it might be the stupidest idea ever.
Well I must go tend to the babys, hope this explains a little.
