Sarcochilus falcatus

Bought this adult sized plant in spike, now mounted on an eucalypt branch.

Hi Molly, I'd like to see a pic of the whole plant. It's beautiful!

It's only just been mounted so not that interesting. Will take a photo when it flowers again next year and the root system is established.

I asked just to see proportion between flowers and plant :)

Thank you Molly! Mm very big flowers compared to the plant. I like it more than S. Hartmannii

I'm new to falcatus myself. Look forward to yours when they flower.

If you're feeling adventuresome...you might use the pollen to try pollinating a Phalaenopsis or two...or ten. It would be great to see more Sarconopsis around.

Can you grow the common Phalaenopsis hybrids outside year around in Sydney? We can't here in Los Angeles. But Sarcochilus thrives here...and maybe some Sarconopsis would as well.

Thanks epiphyte78 fascinating idea! Will try that when I can get my mini phal hybrids in synchronous flowering with the sarcs. I have not had much luck with phal hybrids outdoors.
