Phal equestris flower life

How long are individual flowers and Phal equestris supposed to last? It is dropping them maybe a week, week and a half after opening. I was expecting them to last longer. There are new flowers opening just as quickly, but it would be nice to see a full spray of flowers, not just four or five at a time.

I thought maybe I wasnt watering enough, but it will drop a flower the day after I water it so that's not it.

Any ideas?

My equestris is a seedling and has not bloomed yet but I would have expected the flowers to last longer. I will be looking forward to the answer, too.

nobody has experience with equestris?

I've had a couple of equestris and the flowers are not particularly long lived. On mine, the earlier flowers were also dropping as the newest ones bloomed. It's not a flowering habit that I'm crazy about-- my equestris found new homes.

Well, if that is what is normal then I wont complain. I have seen some beautiful specimens online with keikis and flower spikes all over the place. Mine is still a baby, Im sure it will impress me someday.

I have a NOID that I'm pretty sure has some equestris in it. I could be in error, as I'm relatively new at all of this, but the flowers and buds really look it to me. It has been blooming since I got it which wasn't later than in May and might have been in April. But the individual flowers don't last all that long. It just keeps going and going and going on the same spike. The spike is so long now that it's unweildy and I'm considering cutting it despite the fact that it has buds. I only add this since you haven't had many experts weigh in. Take it with a grain of salt that I could be wrong about the heritage of my NOID.
