This little baby is blooming many many times a year. Likes bright light, slightly letting dry between waterings. Regular fertilizing, seaweed and MagiCal added once a month.

Tommy, your posts got me to look at miniature plants. Because of you, I have this plant, but mine is a little bit redder than your plant's flowers. I don't have a macro lense.

Do you think there are varieties of this plant like an "alba"?

:-) I am glad you got into "miniatures" and you enjoy them Matt. Your plants looks very nice. Regarding color, I do believe it all depends on the light level, in my opinion. My blooms have sometimes more reddish color and sometimes they are nearly white/yellow. Do you grow under the light only? That may be also difference, mine is getting only outside light.

Hi Tommy, I grow mine outside--for now. It has been receiving eastern light and then western light. During the day it gets bright light. Some of the leaves are reddish now.

Another question, if you look at my plant, on the left side of the plaque--where the flower is located, this a major branch from the main plant. It is hanging, would you cut this off and mount it?

I love this miniature! Trying to get a few for my tank but not easy in Canada. Well grown plants TommyMiami and Matt!

Matt, either or, I would either add another mount to the existing one, or placed the existing one on larger plague so you do not have to cut it, if you do not like to do that, than I would say it is large enough division to separate and mount. I do tend to rather add another mount than cut.

Many thanks Neofinetia. Hope you will have luck to get this one!

I wonder why it is difficult to get orchids in Canada? I read about restrictions or more stringent rules for importing plants into Canada, surely orchids could be an exception? After all, Canadian winters are so cold, a tropical plant wouldn't be able to naturalize?

Thanks Tommy for the advice on re-mounting my Lichenastrum. I think I will put it on a larger plaque. I have several plants that I need to get mounted before the Winter.
