hi we have a couple of phals but they keep on toppleing over is there anything we can do apart from repotting thanks :waving

What I do is to place the plastic pot inside a ceramic or clay pot. The extra weight will hold it upright.

I do the same thing.

What you might also consider is re-staking your flower spike so that it is more upright--at least for the second Phalenopsis. If you want to keep your pots as is, then I would place stones inside the pot. These plants are usually double potted, if so, then remove the plant and inner pot, and then put stones inside the decorative pot and then return the plant to this pot. This will actually allow the plant to sit higher in the pot and help air flow circulate around the roots.

I agree with all of the above. Plus, if you have a "cache" pot that is a lot bigger than the plants' pots and they still want to tip than you can hold plant pot to one side and put stones in the empty space opposite the direction it wants to tip, opposite the weight of the spike. (I just had to do this with some mini Phals).

This will work, cept I don't keep any cache pots. What I do when potting Phals in plastic, es the huge ones which bloom with dozens of flowers, is, place smooth rocks at the bottom of the pot.

Also, always right to stake the spikes.....longer and longer stakes as they mature.

But that Phal in the pic is trying to make a PHONE CALL.:blushing:

I agree. Just the other day, cause I had omitted the stones at the bottom when I repotted one of mine now in bloom.....some would see this as unsightly, I don care....I put three stones on top of the mix opposite the direction the flowers were tipping the pot in.

That phal wants that phone.

The white phal looks unhealthy and also it has droopy and wrinkly leaves. I think you should cut that flower spike draining the energy of the plant so that it will not tip over and you would have a healthy phal :)
