Gongora galeata Spiking "Normally"

I always thought that Gongoras flowered like Stanhopeas, on spikes going down through the bottom of the basket. This is my galeata spiking like a "normal" orchid, up:

Gongora have spike starting at the base of the pseudobulbs, usually going either horizontally and sometimes vertically like for erecta. ^^

Gongora flower similar to the way yours is. My galeata is in flower now but the spikes are very fine, not somewhat coarse as yours are. They grow parallel to or very slightly raised. Your plant is too far down in the pot, it should be slightly raised above the lip of the pot to allow the spikes to cascade over the edge.
