Anyone in Canada order from Forestview Gardens
 

We placed an order on this past Friday and added a plant on Sunday but have yet to hear back from Forestview Gardens orchids in B.C. A little unnerving as we supplied our credit card info in the email as they request,
We were wondering if anyone else has experienced delays when ordering from them.
They list some interesting orchids, 1 we want is an Ivan Komoda bred masd.-Maui Gold, which would be our first masd. but as we got a milt. Rene Komoda from Carter and Holmes in May and it seems to be OK so far, we have it in S/H, we thought we would give it a try.
The other plant we ordered is a Howeara Lava Burst 'Pacific Sunrise'.
We are going to try and reach them by phone today to get a confirmation they have the plants we are seeking and our credit info has gone to the right people.
Will post a follow up once we find out anything.

You have no need to worry about Forestview Gardens :) Our society knows them well and has dealt for years with them. Charlotte and Terry are the nicest people and you will get lovely plants. They attend a lot of shows and were just at the Calgary one a week ago, so they may still be enroute or at another show on the way home. Check their schedule on their site. They have spotless healthy plants. Some of the Paphs can be small but if it says bloom size, then it truly will be. If it is a seedling it will be listed as that. I just posted a Milt. Island Peach that I bought a year ago from them and is in bloom now.

They are usually really good about replying so I am sure there is a reason for the delay. They are very accommodating and friendly to deal with.

You are correct Silken- just got off the phone with Charlotte, she had been emailing us since Friday but through either some error with our web mail server or our spam settings were screening her out we'll never know i guess. But all is well, Charlotte mailed our order out to us yesterday without even processing the payment!
Computers and e mail are great when they work but when something like this happens , well that's another rant.
Forestview gardens Orchids are A One and will post pics of the 2 plants when they arrive.

I'am glad it got sorted out. Terry and Charlotte have earned their excellent reputation. They are wonderful to deal with and a great asset to our Canadian orchid growing community.

After the communication problems we must take the blame for, the 2 orchids we ordered arrived well packed and in better than expected condition.
The Howeara Lava Burst 'Pacific Sunrise' was in spike and the Masdevallia Maui Gold had 24 or so almost flawless growths.
Would definitely recommend Forestview Gardens to all Canadian Orchid growers.
We repotted the Howeara into a 3" clear slotted pot with hydrocorn and the masd. into a 3.5" clay pot with lava rock and put this pot into a 5" clay overpot to increase evaporative cooling and then into a 1" saucer of dehumidifer water[S/H]

Good to know it all worked out. You have two lovely plants.

I have many Paph species from them, and they have always been high quality plants. They have been great to deal with over the past few years. I would definitely recommend them.

I have gotten orchids from forestview gardens & they are great! Plants arrived in perfect condition & they are amazing with follow up regarding questions etc .. they are honest & reliable!🙂
