Paphiopedilum Moon Stone
1 Attachment(s)
This is a hybrid between (Paphiopedilum Deperle 'White Conquest' x Paphiopedilum Stone Lovely 'Lehua Butter Puff)
I cannot take credit for bloom (well, maybe a little bit for not blasting hahaha) as I bought this in low spike at a show last month. It had two buds, but the other one dried up. It opened up slightly cream yellow, then turned nearly white, well, off white, and leaving just hint of yellow near the center. then some tiny specks near the center as well. The flower is quite cute and big for the plant. There were a few available at the show table and I bought the smallest plant. :) The petals look like it has suffered some bug chewing, but it is all natural. never seen this kid of deformity before. hahaha It also has two small fans starting. Normally I do not have much luck with all of them developing. For some reason, only one will grow, but this plant is growing both fans so far. yay!!! |
Pretty! I call those "toothy" petals.

Beautiful!

haha I like that. toothy! :)
I kind of want to give it away as I have many white paphs and this is not that special to me, but I'm curious if the next bloom will also be "toothy"...hmmm |
:waving
http://rkidkelly.smugmug.com/Flowers...SCN7827-XL.jpg mines 2 years old and got a bump on his chin. I get a lot of mugged jaws on the paphs. I see others do too though. |
Wow~ yours is a lot more "toothy" than mine. lol
|
Both really lovely! I see what you mean RJ about yours though.

I have bloomed 4 or 5 of Muriel's Pearl, which is similar breeding. They all have those teeth and random bumps on the slipper.
I am not sure whether it is inherent to one of the specific parents used, or whether it might be a genetic 'conflict' in this style of breeding. |
Pretty, elegant flowers. :)

Nice! :)
