Update:May 30 Post- Miltonia with brownish bulb, not looking to good

Hello all Orchid lovers,
I wanted to fill all of you in on what was going on with my Miltonia, that I spoke about on this forum May 30, 2014.
Okay have taken the plant out of the pot, removed all media and proceeded to soak in Physan 20. After I was done with that, I was left with what you see in the picture, definetly was wanting something better looking. Now the hole in the psuedobulb kinda of worries me, its actually from the old spike. I'm kinda at a loss of what to do now.
Is this guy worth trying to save? Cause I still notice some browning on the good psuedobulb. Will a Miltonia even grow if there's only one pseudobulb in the pot, I was always told when splitting up any of these kind of plants you need like two or three psuedobulbs.
everybody's input is would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You All,
Tony 'Matorchid' Briceno

This doesn't look a happy plant. I hope someone can help advise what's gone wrong

Try and keep the plant just damp. Not wet. Place in some bark or very loose sphagnum moss. Hopefully it will push a new baby out before it is gone. There's always hope and that is how we learn. I'd like to see some better pics. Hard to tell from this view. Closer pics of the pbulbs would help.

It may still have a chance to make another pseudobulb. Though it would have been nicer if it were at least 3 older ones..but who knows, sometimes the plants have a certain fighting spirit.

I think you may have to keep it a little more moist. I find the Milts and their hybrids thirsty.

I have a Miltassia which I have left in my growcamp outdoors during winter, and come Spring, some of the pbs got yellow like yours, and there are some that are still green but you can just see the struggle the plant endured during the cold season. Now that it is really getting warmer, with heat waves coming in now, I have stepped up watering, and been showering the plants as often as I could. I can do this since it is outdoors in the screened growcamp, so it gets full sun for about 3 hours in the morning and shade the rest of the day. Cross breeze all over the orchids in the growcamp.

Here is the photo of my Miltassia: it is not in the best color or condition yet, but I see new growth and with that I feel reassured the plant is bouncing back.

Good luck on your Milt!
