Phal crown rot save?
 

Ok. I know most of the advice would be to junk this NOID phal. But I am sentimental. This has been a strong ever bloomer. Got careless when I started building the collection and it got crown rot. Removed sprayed fungus etc but the plant is weak. But can u see it still insists on blooming? It as two spikes, one w a leaf on it and I recently cut that down to the leaf. The other spike still has blooms and I am waiting to trim it down. It had the crown rot attack like at least three Months ago and is still alive. I have held back on anything aggressive except to spray fungicide and very mild growing fertiliser. Any advise anyone? First of all, how are the roots?

Assuming the roots are good, you might have a chance but its going to be a while before it recovers, if at all. If it were mine, and I have inherited a few like this, I would cut the spikes. You must divert the plants energy into making a basal keiki. Keep it a warm, dim the light a bit and just keep supporting it.

I have had new crowns form on a few with crown rot even worse than that.
Took over a year for each though.

The roots are not brilliant. A bit dry but not rotted. Ok I will brace mySelf to cut the bloom

You have a flower stem with a leaf on it? That leaf is probably a keiki. A better photo (close up) of the stem and leaf should help confirm if it is a keiki.

I agree to cut any flower spikes that are just trying to produce more flowers. But, if you have not already cut the stem that has the leaf (assuming its a keiki), leave it on the plant until it has a few roots. Then, cut it loose, pot it up on its own. You can then try to see if your crown rotted plant produces a basal keiki as well.

Hi. Yes I haven't cut the one w the leaf. It's been like that for ages and I will hope for roots. Will see what happens.
