Encyclia ambigua
Profusion of flowers on this perfumed Encyclia. The lip has very interesting crests.

:yikes:
Now I know...I'm doing something wrong!!! I have a 4 bulb division of E alata and haven't had any luck getting it to bloom...and I somehow know that when (and if) it does, it's not gonna look like this! Mauro, you've definitely raised the bar on this one!!! |
That looks extremely like E. tampensis http://www.orchidboard.com/community...Tampensis1.jpg which is endemic to Carribean area, especially Florida.
|
Isn't that an Encyclia Ooh-la-la!!!! Impressive Mauro! kiki-do

What a total knock out, Mauro! That little lip is to die for. And so many of them! Where would one begin! (HE HE)

Encyclia cordigera
I'm having problems with my plant. The bulbs are very shrivelled and the bottom leaf has dried and turned yellow and will drop off any moment. I'm wondering if I should now be giving it a winter rest instead the regular regimen. It's in a small clay pot, medium bark mix, at intermediate temperatures. Any suggestions for me? :hmm

My mistake, it is not Ency alata, but Encyclia ambigua, please correct!
This was misidentified. I appologize and am posting it again, now with the correct name. Thanks!

 See? I just KNEW my Encyclia elata wouldn't look like this one!!! :coverlaugh:
Whatever it is, Mauro...it is absolutely gorgeous! |
