Hello from Seattle

I am new to orchids, I started with a few Phalaenopsis from Lowes hardware store (which proceeded to do very poorly and prompted me to do tons of research and started an obsession). Since then I have been trying to baby them and have yet to see them thrive (I believe root rot is the culprit, they were packed very tightly in moss and I think it stayed too wet before I knew to repot). I will probably write a thread soon to see what else I can do to help them.
I have also gotten several Cattleya's from online growers, which are doing well.
I look forward to being a part of this forum!
