NOID Oncidium blooming
1 Attachment(s)
I'm super-happy about this because it's the first orchid I've ever gotten to rebloom that isn't a phalaenopsis. I got it in mid-May last year, when I was just starting to collect orchids and still very clueless about their care. It's a trooper for putting up with me :) Hopefully the luck will continue with the other orchids I've acquired since then.
If anyone knows the name of this guy, please let me know :) Attachment 97973 |
Congrats! Unfortunately, I won't be able to assist with an identification.

Awesome! :wtg:

It is always hard to ID
a complex hybrid. That said, search for the orchid works and look at Oncidioda Copper Scarab 'Brass Brethren'. This is what came to mind when I saw your posted picture. But also see Oncidioda Jimbo 'Swarm' (same site). They pump out 4000+ copies of the crosses they clone, many of which end up in the pot plant trade. Many more are "grown out" by mid-size vendors.

Very nice and congrats on re-blooming this. There are so many in the Oncidium intergeneric group that look similar. It is impossible to know what the name is for sure. So it should remain as a NOID and if you like you can give it a name of your choice for your own use.

Thanks everyone :) I have another oncidium, a little Oncidium Twinkle, so I'll just call this one "the big oncidium" lol.
I've never heard of an Oncidioda before! |
:cheer: great work reblooming it.
