This hybrid is one of my favs. Unfortunately it is hard to get to bloom as it bloomed last in 2011.I have increased the light last and got two spikes this year. The spike is just about a metere in length .

very picturesque!

I can see why that is one of your favorites. I love the little markings on the 'wings' (pedals). I have a similar looking beautiful oncidium NOID that I cannot get to rebloom either, yet the plant looks very healthy. I'll try some extra light like you just did. Greg.

Thanks. I think this an old hybrid. Odontoglossum cirhosum x cochlioda noetzliana which is also hard to get it bloom. The light and sun make the trick. I give my cochlioda noetzliana morning sun and this lovely hybrid receives dappled afternoon sun. Try the increase the light. There is another hybrid similar to this it is called odontioda bradshowiae. Maybe you have that. Good luck

I really like the color. It reminds me of a very lively sunset.

Very helpful

I bought what I suppose was a back-bulb of this cross from Keelings last year, and despite the comments above have got it to flower on the first new growth since, a tall spike of bright red flowers; quite a surprise since I usually seem to specialise in shyfloweriis.
Many thanks for the parentage details above.
