Maddening Ad Banner

As I'm refreshing the home page, I see an item on the ad banner that I want to explore. I see it just a nanosecond before a new ad comes up. So I keep refreshing, hoping the item comes around again.

No such luck!:((

Do a google search for the subject of the ad, then it'll come up more and more.

Someone actually wants to look at the ads?

AnonYMouse 04-11-2014 06:53 PM

Since they are from googling, yes, I'm kind of interested.

I'm over it now.

I don't let my browser or computer save my history/cookies so the ads are always very random. I guess that if the ads are geared to you, they might be more interesting. Knowing the way the ads circulate, though, you'll probably see it sooner or later.

I'd like to know why Google thinks that I would be interested in thousands of hot Asian beauties who are dying to talk to me. Yes, human trafficking ad banners pop up on this forum's website.

Any suggestions on how to stop them?

I have never seen such ads. Is someone using your computer to search out hot Asian girls?

Try clearing out your cookies.

its not only Google that tracks your page views. Bing definitely does. Amazon and Home Depot do so as well. We recently bought a washer/dryer from HD. For a couple of days I got "suggestions" pop up randomly. Ironically I also got an e-mail from HD of some suggestions and the price of the washer/dryer had dropped - I got a refund of this price difference. ( On big purchases, I always do a price check before 30 days - but this was handy ! )
You can also open a browser page in private mode. Mozilla has a feature where you can open a "private window" and once this is closed, all tracking history/cookies are eliminated.

BTW - Bing has a rewards programme that allows you to collect points based on the number of searches you do. Its definitely worthwhile joining, I have had at least $200 worth of rewards in the past 2 years alone. All for doing what I was going to do anyway !

Nobody is using my computer for that. However, I do frequent a website for math puzzle games, and Google has likely profiled me as a 'gamer', i.e. a social misfit who would respond to online porn. Guess I should turn on parental controls - for myself!

I get the Asian beauties adds all the time as well. Definitely no-one else using this PC.

I think it's due to references to Asian countries (for example Tailand) for some of the orchids which prompts it. That's been my guess anyway. I've not found a way to get rid of them. I was seeing the Asian beauties adds all the time at the beginning of the year when I wasn't a forum supporter (which does get rid of them).

The forum has no control on what adds you see in the google adds and everyone get's different ones, based on your previous browsing, but also the content of the page you are looking at.
