Repotting this little guy

Just got him in and it seems like he is in rock wool now. Do I leave that or pull it off? Just going by aquarium experience we always pull it off before putting it in our tanks. It will provide it a nice stable spot to hold on to though. Just seems like it will hold water for a long time.

Thanks!

Figured iinstead of starting another thread might as well ask about this one in here too...

Its a Miltassia I also just received. It has a big block of roots that I'm not sure what to do with. Looks like it was grown in a little square pot and it's roots are all grown together. Not sure if they are very useful or not...

Oh, I thought it was florist's foam.

Either way, I would recommend removing it and repotting it in whatever media works best for you.

Soak the mass, and use a skewer, or something similar, gently approach from the top and wiggle it around to help loosen it up. It may indeed be some foam in yhe center - I have seen that before used in small pots for seedlings.
