Heyy.
Just a simple question. Can one grow a Neo. like a Vanda in a cedar Vanda basket?? |
Yes.

I have one Neofinetia plant mounted on a small branch. It looks okay. However, I have to water it more often. If it is grown bare root like Vanda, you probably need to water or mist daily during the growing season.

I have all of mine in net pots, with a 3/4 sphagnum 1/4 bark mix. Most of the year they do fine with weekly watering; in summer they need twice a week.

Thank you all.

There's no reason that you couldn't grow them in baskets with some sphag. They would dry out quickly but still retain a little moisture. It is also easy to tell when they need water.

Thank you. I'm bidding on one one eBay and its mounted but I was thinking that it would look good in a Vanda basket. That's if I win.

I grow mine in basket pots/red lava rock and the roots just go everywhere, like Vandas. :)

They do also do well mounted. If you win the mounted plant, it may be established on the mount, and then would be better off left on the mount - unless you are planning to just put the mount in the basket.
