Light Levels for Paphs?
Bought a Paph 2 weeks ago at an orchid show. Has one medium sized bud on it. Upon researching paphs, I found that since they usually grow on forest floors they do not need a lot of light. But as a newbie is there an easy and/or cheap way to tell how much light a plant is getting in one's home? I've heard mention of candlelight amount? I realize that even in a southern exposure the light amount can vary so is there something I can purchase to help me figure out varying light levels in my home?

Do you have any phals?
I put put mine near my phals. They get a little more light than then but it's pretty close. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk |
My Phals are in several different places so I'm not sure.
Other posts referred to light meters but I wonder if they give accurate results consistently. |
I have a very cheap light meter I got from work and it works really well for me. They also have light meter apps that are somewhat accurate.

What kind of paphs do you have? I only have a few but most of mine are grown with my phals.. The exception is my multifloral paphs which need more light.
