I am an avid Orchid grower with 20+ Phalaenopsis. I have finally been able to get back into having orchids, long story.... Most of my current ones are "rescue" from either big box stores or from people who were not taking good care of them. Most had massive root rot but I have seen good progress on most of them. I just received 10 more plants the other day off of eBay, from a person who rents them out for house sale showings, interior design, shows, weddings, etc... and then discards them when the blooms drop. I am probably going to get a lot from this person as its a sin she dumps them just because the blooms drop. I am just started to experiment with Keiki gel to clone some of my favorite plants.

Always gets me giddy when I meet people from NJ. I'm from and moved away a while ago. I miss my Garden State!

It's really cool that you're rescuing plants that would otherwise be tossed. I just found one on the street with its flowers chopped off and brought it home!
