Lepanthopsis astrophora 'stalky' in bloom
1 Attachment(s)
Thought I'd share this.:blushing:
When well grown it can really quite pretty. This was the first of many plants I've tried to grow. All but this one didn't make it. After almost 3 years it finally decided to show it's stuff. Hopefully in years to come it will turn into the showy plant I've seen in pictures. Thanks for looking - I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. |
That is pretty!

Haven't seen this one before. It's very nice, lovely color :D

Cool little thing, LizT! I only know it by photos and never found it here to acquire. Maybe someday!

Liz, Congratulations!!:cheer: I have one, and it seems that it wants to produce more keikis than flowers. I've only had mine flower once, but then I've only had it for about 18 months. Three keikis, though, which I guess should have also been flower spikes?
This one is so tiny! I love it. |

I actually have 3 of these plants & I've had 2 of them for about 2 years. They've endured much abuse (all well meant) at my hands & almost didn't make it. See "Lepanthopsis astrophora 'stalky' - a leason learned" I just posted. Both of the older plants have a keiki each - so your not alone. Not sure why they produce keikis:_( Thanks to all for looking & your encouraging words. |
What a great little Pleurothalid!! Thanks for sharing.

Liz, Thanks for the extra info! One of my Restrepias this year decided to produce a keiki instead of a flower as well... Not sure what triggers that, but I'd love to know 'cause I wanna see flowers!!
I only have the one plant. My 'Stalky' dropped a lot of its leaves shortly after it arrived, but then adjusted and bloomed. Since then, all I've got is more new growth and keikis. Its difficult to tell in photos just how small these are... the leaves on mine are smaller than my pinky fingernail! When mine flowered, I was amazed at the flower spike - it was nearly as thin as a hair, so the flowers seemed to 'float' above the plant in the air. This is a great little plant. |
