Any shows near me? Anyone know about the Triad Orchid Society show?
 

I live in southern WV (10 minutes to VA). I've been looking for a show. The closest I've found is Greensboro NC and it's this weekend. Has anyone ever been? Does anyone know of another show in the WV, VA, NC area with a really good show? Would make for a nice day trip.

I haven't been to a Triad OS show since I was a kid, but they always had a decent amount of displays and vendors and from what I know of the current membership it's a good group.

Blue Ridge OS in Roanoke is a little smaller but probably the closest one to you, not sure if they're doing a spring show or not. My Dad's a member, I'll ask him what they're up to this year.

Slightly farther afield (but not much more than Greensboro) is the Western NC OS show in Asheville at the end of March. This is IMO one of the best shows in the southeastern US, with large elaborate displays and 8-10 of the best regional vendors. The NC Arboretum where the show is held is also worth a visit on its own merits. I missed this one last year but I'm hoping to make it up this time.
