A beautiful pot.

My dear friend Scott Riddle (Scott Riddle | Contemporary Ceramic Artist) is a ceramic artist and he recently sent me this photo of a beautiful Art Nouveau inspired pot that he created by hand to grow his orchids in.

I loved it so much that I ordered one from him for myself.
He currently has another listing for one here, if you *need* one too:

Beautiful pot!

I thought so too! I want to see if I can commission him to make something suitable for S/H, too. I am sick of drilling glass vessels!

Drilling terracotta is pretty easy, but I'd be reluctant to take a drill to a pot like that! Beautiful indeed!

Yeah he put ventilation holes in this model so it would not be great for S/H but a different style would work. I think I would want it glazed for S/H too to keep that moisture in. :)

Wow! That's awesome!

I came accross info about this in the google results linked to a facebook page about the pacific orchid fair a few days ago while looking for photos of kovachii lol.

Their was one I was watching on ebay for the last few days thinking of buying but I hesitated too much and didn't purchase lol as I live in Australia and worried it might break on the journey. I thought the seller was just a orchid collector and didn't realize they were a well known artist lol.

The artist is right about their being a complete lack of aesthetic when it comes to orchid or plant pots in general. I completely agree with them.

I actually made a clay sculpture very similar as a child, in the guise of a face similar to that, but never felt I was ever good enough as an artist or confident in my own ability to make a career of it.

These pots are so creative and a completely new idea. The artist is very generous in their pricing, especially when you consider they are hand made.

Thanks for sharing.

Someone already snapped up that one and the seller has no more items for sale. :((

I LOVE strange and unusual pots to go along with my strange and unusual plants. I HATE plastic pots.

Laserbeak, he has them listed on Etsy too. :)
