Cattleya dolosa var. alba

Purchased from RF Orchids in June of 2012, this is the first flowering for me. The flowers have a light citrus fragrance.

Cool! I really like the way you're growing this one.
|
Haven't seen that one before, what a great flower! Looks like walkeriana with its Sunday best on.
|
Very nice.

Beautiful!

Whites are so pure and gorgeous!

Very nice DC. It does look like it has some walkeriana in it. Or maybe it's the other way around? ;)
|
Did you obtain this as a seedling or a division?
|
According to Withner, 1988: "This species has been the source of much confusion and is not common nor really understood, and is I suppose debatably included in this book as a species. It has usually been considered a natural hybrid of or between C. walkeriana and C. loddigesii or C. harrisoniana but attempts to duplicate it in cultivation have failed to date, according to various unsubstantiated reports."
This plant had a number of pseudobulbs when I purchased it so it was older than a seedling, it has added 2 new pseudobulbs since I purchased it. |
Very nice, David! I recently came across this:
