I will try to keep it the explanation basic.

Yes; Asymbiotic and symbiotic

Much depends on quality of seed and the seed being able obtain the right mycotrophy (Fungus-assisted nutrition) there are many kinds of mycorrhiza (A mutualistic combination of root and infecting fungus).

Asymbiotic; is a formula preparation of chemicals medium when mixed it is referred to as vitro, that give the seed the required nutrients restraint to germinate upon. All this must be done under aseptic conditions with the seeds to be sown onto the medium; must undergo some kind of disinfecting procedure, to eliminate any bacterial that the seeds may have on them. Green pod method it is not necessary to disinfect the seeds; just the outside of the pod and your tools but still must be done under aseptic conditions.

Symbiotic; is placing seeds in an area on the medium that is known to possess and have been inoculated with a mycorrhiza fungus found to be beneficial to seed germination.

This is just a basic reply to your question. You can go the Social Group and look at propagation there are photos and talk about this.

I hope this helps you.

The seeds are very tiny, and people put them in flasks of a nutrient solution and grow them in almost laboratory conditions. There are millions of seeds in each pod. It takes many years to get from the seed to the flowering plant.

People also make clones. I have never heard of growing orchids from roots.

There are some people on the board here who know a lot about the subject. I think there is a flasking and propogation area.
