Mount Totumas Cloud Forest, Panama
 

WOW! Spent the weekend at Mount Totumas Cloud Forest Lodge in Panama. Its located on 400 acres adjacent to La Amistad Park (spans Panama and CR boarder). Great place with an amazing diversity of orchids and bird life.

We sumitted Mt Totumas today,non technical ascent, but a very strenuous hike. Absolutely amazing cloud forest ecosystem on the sumit. Pristine, rarely visited by humans. The biodiversity there is amazing. Lots of minatures. Imagine a tropical version of the Hoh Rainforest on steroids.

wow.......those moths and butterflies.....

...and more varieties of humming birds than I've ever seen in one place. They've documented 15 different species there. We saw loads of Violet Sabrewings - a very dramatic humming bird.

Also got a good long look thru their spotting scope at a male Quetzal.
