Cym. Coldstream?

The name on the label for this one says Coldstream but in the description of this plant said the flower is yellow/peach. Does anyone have a picture of 'Coldstream' or can anyone tell me if this is, in fact, Coldstream? Any help would be wonderful, thank you.

The original Cym. Coldstream was hybridized and registered by McBeans in 1973 as a cross of (Clarissa x Berwick). This is a really old cross but my suspicion is that your plant is a mericlone of another plant with the cultivar name of 'Coldstream' put on it. This is often done in the mericlone market today to hide the name of the parents and for "ease of labeling" as some marketers will say. Without further investigation of the parents of the original Coldstream, it is hard to know what you actually have. Even with study of a plant's parents, it is almost impossible to confirm a name.

My advice is to enjoy your plant for whatever it is and assume the tag may be incorrect. It does not look "peach" but more yellow green as a background to me. Light can change things, however and I have learned that some makers of descriptions haven't a clue to correct color nomenclature.

Thank you, CL! I bought half a dozen cym's from McBeans but I wasn't sure if this was one of their creations. I'll send a pic off to them and see what they say. There was another cym they sent me had the wrong colour but that could just have been a mix up - the correct name but they gave me the white form instead of the peach colour I wanted. No matter, I love this one whatever it is.

McBeans is a reputable dealer but I cannot believe they are still selling this old hybrid. With a photo of the flower and also a photo of the label, hopefully they should be able to clear things up.

I emailed them last Friday but as yet there is no reply. So I'll hang on a while before I email them again. This one is going to look really good with all of the flowers on two spikes opened.
