I am new to Catts.
I haveva question it has about 6 pbs that are shriveled has a couple roots but the bulbs are slightly wiggly. Not mushy as of yet thou.
I put it in a south facing window .
If anyone could suggest any info thank you.

Old pseudobulbs may shrivel, do not worry about them. Just make sure new one are taken care of,they will be plump and they get energy from old ones.

I have this variety too, not growing too well. Supposedly a strong variety but I think my plant was too weak and possibly diseased to begin with.

It had a flower steath but very floppy .
I will upload a picture do you have a picture as well of your orchid.

Have you been growing it in that glass container?

I bought it yesterday at lowes in a bag. There is styrofoam on bottom and I have it in a glass becuase that window is where my sink is for my kitchen so anything else falls down.

I would be concerned about the plant getting enough air flow in that glass container.

I have seen pictures of this and it is a beautiful orchid. I also think you might want to make a few adjustments to help your orchid's roots stay healthy. Here are some thoughts....
If you want to grow the orchid in the vase for now, remove the orchid from the pot, gently shake off most of the medium and just set it in the vase with whatever is sticking to the roots. The key is that you want the medium to dry very quickly so that the roots do not rot. Never let it sit in water or...the roots are doomed. :|
If the pot is small and dries out completely in a day, even in the vase, you might be okay. One way to check if it is dry in the middle is the 'skewer method', something you can easily google, or just to see if the pot feels light or heavy.
Cattleyas grow on trees, roots exposed to humid air, rains watering them and then the breeze drying the roots very quickly so what your medium does is to keep humid air around the roots. If it keeps water around the roots, they rot as this isn't the way these roots were adapted to grow.

I live here in Ohio and not some wonderful tropical place so I grow my cattleyas in basket pots or vanda baskets to help them dry quickly. I use, as a medium, red lava rock. It is heavy enough to keep the pots from tipping over and yet drains/dries very quickly to prevent root rot. I also don't need to disturb the roots every year or so to re-pot the orchid. If you plan to re-pot your orchid after it is done blooming, wait until it has new growth but before the new roots begin to grow. You plant the orchid on top of the medium, using stakes (chopsticks, etc) to hold the orchid in place. The roots will grow into the medium and stabilize the orchid and then you can remove the stakes (takes a few months to get established). If there isn't a new pseudobulb growing, I usually poke holes in the sides of the pot to allow better air-flow so that the medium dries more quickly and try to remove as much of the medium as I can without disturbing the roots.

Cattleyas seem to like extra calcium, too.

They like air. A better thing to do would be to hang it in a basket. Since the roots are short, gone, or dry, you will need towater every day. It may take a month to get a nubbins of a healthy root coming from the base of the plant. But, it needs air to do it.

I just hung them upside down on a wire because th eery are wobbly and I am misting them.
They are in bad shape I hope they will at least make new growths. :)
