Lots of Lady's Slippers - Eighth Week of the Native Orchid Season, 2013
What a week! Saw one of the few locations for the Yellow Lady's Slipper in Washington where it was growing with the Mountain Lady's Slipper and where the two had hybridized. Lot's of Coralroots, too:

Beautiful. A little excitement yesterday eh? So happy for Seattle. Go Seahawks
Thanks, Lecent. A whole lot of excitement actually.
Those Cyps are so beautiful. Wow
While I love the closeups I also love seeing pictures of a whole plant with lots of flowers, like you have of the one you think is Cypripedium montanum. |
Thanks, Rosie. It is amazing to see huge clumps of these and in the one location there were a lot of them.
They are beautiful. When I have time I will go to your other link. Goodness hard to be-leave you have orchids blooming as we are having a snow storm hear.
Fabulous!
Thanks, Shannon and Sonya, and, Shannon, these photos were taken last summer. We have freezing temps though no snow.
Oh sorry I must have missed that part. I did think it was strange they could possibly be blooming now.
Now if I had had time to look at the other link I would have noticed this. Those Lady slippers are just amazing. |
No problem. Come and see them some summer.
