Den kingianum var Alba keki blooming it's heart out!
This little keiki was already growing the spikes when it was removed from it's mother in December. For such a tiny plant it's just blooming it's heart out with 11 flowers on 2 spikes.
I've found through experimentation with several keikis and the parent over the last few years, that to flower this it needs to be kept cold (5C-10C in my greenhouse) but this one was brought in to the house while spiking and within 13 days the flowers opened even though the spikes on the ones left in the greenhouse have hardly changed from just forming spikes. I stopped fertilising at the end of August, however I have a mounted keiki of this which has been watered every couple of days with rain water and it's still spiking, so you don't need to cut out water. The ones kept in warmer temperatures have not flowered and are back into a growth cycle already.
Anyway, as well as producing a lot of flowers for such a tiny plant, this can fill a room with a sweet scent every morning :)
