Wonky Vinicolor NoID

Some sort of Maudiae x charlesworthii hybrid that I still haven't managed to get an ID for yet... I love it a lot (it grows really well and seems easy to re-bloom), but it bothers me that this is the ONLY NoID Paph that I have (out of about 50...) and that it's not unique enough to give a proper ID either.

Oh well, here's my wonky vini ( :D ) :

Me as well, and with the red on the leaves it is really neat. Goes together real well.

That is a nice Paph!

I have a few of these all with ID tags.

I don't think you can get past guessing maudiae type x charlesworthii because there are many and they basically all look like this.

That maudiae types can be Voodoo Magic, Hilo Glory, Hsinying Rubyweb, Via Quatal....you just cannot get it as there are quite a few.

I see yours have nice root system. What mix is it in?

I know. I had hoped that the vendor would be able to get an ID from the nursery where he got it from, but no such luck. They all look too much alike to give it an proper ID by merely looking at it, and since the vendor couldn't get an ID either, it's doomed to be a NoID.

It's in a bark, perlite, and sphagnum mix (same as all my orchids) but with terrarium bark (an experiment which seems to have cost me two Paphs so far). This bark is no good, since it turned out it decomposed too fast, so I'll have to move my vini before it loses its nice root system. I have other root monsters like this (both Paphs and Phals) that are in my regular bark, perlite, and sphagnum mix (pine bark in that mix), so I don't know if it might be the water I give them. :scratchhead:

At least you know one of the parent is charlesworthii, and the other is a "maudiae type" which is a whole history of its own. lol

Phals seem to grow crazy roots whatever I do with them. Sometimes I just cut them off when they get all over the place and so annoying. :)

My paphs are in three different type of mix, well, actually four, but two of them are very similar. Straight sphag, straight bark (I believe orchiata) and a variation of this, and coconut husk chips mixed with hydroton, perlite, charcoal.

Of these, the last one gives me the best results with roots. so now I plant to pot up all my paphs to that mix. I've trid bark instead of chc, and the result was similar except I had to water more often with bark drying out faster than chc.

What do you mean by aquarium bark??
