Picked these up at home depot today, all I know is they're cyms.

Lovely!
I'm extremely partial to pink cyms. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk |
Thank you. This is my first experience with cyms so I'll be reading up for awhile. From what I've seen so far they seem to be a pretty forgiving species at least as far as temperature.

Pretty colours.
Cyms generally want cold temps to flower well. I have mine in the greenhouse just now (5C/41F) and they live outside in the summer even though we never get massively hot here in the UK. They also take direct sun once adjusted to it where I am, though again we don't have the hottest brightest summers. |
Thank you, RosieC. I plan to find them a spot outside when it warms up so they get good morning or evening light but not direct sun through the middle of the day. It gets pretty intense in this area during the hot months, or I may decide to put them under lights I haven't decided. I haven't tried orchids outdoors yet except for early fall when the nights get cool. I have been afraid of the heat here which tends to be upper 90s f to even a few days around 105f during July and August.

Hey, an unexpected perk! The pink ones have a light rosie fragrance.

They're lovely. The scent is a nice bonus.

Nice find, I like the pink one but the yellow one would look good in my window :-)
