You shouldn't use the powder. The chunks are better because powder will clog the spaces in your media restricting air space.

Good to know. I never knew there was chunks..
Never saw it offered in chunks either....but I now have this powder and kinda need to use it. Would it work on my ones that I keep in lava rock. |
I think the same thing applies, but maybe it won't be so bad on media that doesn't break down. When I used the chunks, I'd just sprinkle some on top of the media, no measurements. Maybe a half teaspoon of the powder on a large pot? Say 6"? That's totally a guess BTW!

Good info I will sprinkle it once a month on the catasetum during active growth. And sprinkle it every other week on my gramms in serious growth mode right now that are in lava rock chunks. I also put 10 or more holes in their pots. For extra air flow.

Oh shoot, you don't need that much! I was thinking once per year!!! It doesn't dissolve all that quickly.

Okay once a year yeesh this may be going on my gardenia bush.
I forgot this does not.melt to quickly. Thanks for reminding me!! |

Kindra, as I wrote you, rad this thread again, and use as directed, this member has over 20 years of experiences with growing Catasetums and has hundreds of them, so he definitely knows what he is doing, I did use powder exactly in the amount instructed in his thread!
