Eria aporoides
This might be posted in the wrong alliance. An old post on this forum mentioned that Eria was related to Dendrobiums although the growth does not look anything like a Dendrobium. Anyway, I had this plant for several years now with an occasional flower or two. In most years, it never bloomed. Someone mentioned that this plant will blossom after a rainstorm. Well, we had a downpour a few days ago and I was surprised this morning to see all these flowers on the plant. There is a slight fragrance. As I recall the flowers will only last for a day or two. I had this plant hanging outside under 50% shade. The tallest stem is about 10 inches tall. The flowers are small, about 1/4 inch across. The white flowers appear like it is coming out of a yellow flower.

Awesome.

Do the yellow parts pop out that quickly after a rain and then bloom? Seems like a quick response to a rain! Very healthy looking, great growing!

Very cool. The flower looks just like Den. kingianum. Great growing!

Such a fine grown specimen with rich flowering is really a show stopper.

Good growing.

Well done.

Fabulous!

The yellow parts are actually the bracts on the flowering "spike". The spike is just much shorter than usual and thus the bracts are closer together.

Just beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
