I Broke It, I Broke It! OMG! I can't believe, I Broke It!
 

I broke the blooming growth off of my Paph. Fair Venus. I hate myself so much right now! I cut the bloom, and sphag n' bagged it. Is this the way to go? It has some root nubs, and it's fairly healthy! Have I done all I can do?
Note: Parent plant is in a semi-hydro pot!:bowing

Relax, you put it in a saucer of water overnight and repot it. It will bring forth roots in a matter of weeks. These kind of plants are hardy they can take abuse. The flower might blast but maybe not....since it was the base that got affected not the spike.

I also noticed that the tips of the leaves are dry and brown. I might have moisture issues since you are in zone 5b; make sure you are giving it enough humidity.

It's in a saucer, what do I do with it after? Should I repot it in with the mother plant? Or can I put it back to bark, place it in a pot, and set it in my orchidarium? I would prefer the latter. The big plant is in Semi Hydro, as I mentioned, and it's really not for me.

Your instincts are right....pot it in orchid media mix in your orchidarium. I am in zone7b and I water my Paphs and Phrags once a week and I invested in a one gallon humidifier with oscillating fan....browning of the tips is a moisture issue either overwatering or underwatering....find a watering regimen that will work for both of you....GL!

So sorry about that! You could try using some seaweed when you water or soak it as it promotes root growth. It looks like it can survive.

Don't feel bad - we do these things (well I have!) & the plants survive. You have been given sound advice, & those root nubs are your affirmation that the plant can start anew. Humidity & circulating air will be a good move. Also the seaweed root stimulant can be a kind of miracle for your plant. Now you have two potential plants - good luck
