How to identify paph vs phrag
I was given a NOID slipper orchid by a friend. I've got no experience with these -- can anyone tell me how to identify it as being a paph vs a phrag (or vice-versa)?
Thanks! |
Probably easiest to tell from the leaves. If it has mottled or patterned leaves it's not a Phrag. Also the Phrags have narrower more grass-like leaves that come to a sharp point while Paphs have wider leaves with blunter ends.

The roots also look different. Paphs are fat, orange/brown and hairy. Phrags are thinner, white/green, and only slightly fuzzy.

Can you post a picture?

Thanks for the tips - it's got orange hairy roots, so I'll go with that.
I didn't bother with a pic because it's not in flower and the leaves are plain too |
