Chelyorchis ampliatus spike forming
1 Attachment(s)
I got this as one of those "bag baby" plants at Lowes last year. The plant seemed healthy when I got it, and has continued growing well for me, even in a very wet summer last year.
I saw this growth starting a few weeks ago, thought it was another pseudobulb/growth coming along. Now it is clearly cylindrical and elongated - looks like I have a spike coming along! This is the first spike for me on this plant: Attachment 93557 |
Oh goodness how exiting. Even though I have no idea what type of orchid that is.

Congratulations! Great job.

This is definitely a new one for me, too. Congratulations! Can't wait to see the blooms! :)

They still have these at one of the stores near me. They are a pretty plant with wide leaves and fat PB. I was tempted to buy it when I came across it but I already have a small one. It'll probably be years before mine blooms. Congratulations. I am jealous

How thrilling! Please post a picture of the blooms. I've never heard of this orchid before.
