Dendrochilum propinquum spike show!

:waving
Hello everyone, just sitting home and trying not to be much stressed with that horrible passing weather, I already lost braand new gorgeous growth on my Phaius yesterday night due to the falling pot, the wind is so so strong since yesterday and nonstop! Temps in the morning were here in Miami only 41, thanks God it is some 55 tnite. I hope my chids will be fine.
To make myself happy, few pics of my newly blooming propinguum. It gave me one early spike in October, but now it provided quite a New Year's show, 9 spikes slowly opening, love this guy!!! I keep it moist pretty much all the time, and feed it often, some bright light, other than that no extra care really.

Beautiful!. I've been eyeing off a Dendrochilum cobbianum or two just this week, I saw one in full bloom at a friends place and was blown away by both the beauty - and more importantly for me - the scent! ^_^ Yours has much nicer colour than the ones I'm looking at getting, but I imagine basic care would be similar.

My greenhouse is probably fairly close to Florida growing conditions too - hot, humid and bright. Though not as cold as you've been getting!, didn't realise Florida ever got that chilly :)

Usually NOT, this is again yet another extreme wwe are experiencing here in south - after unusual rainy summer came unusual hot rainy fall followed byt extremely unusual rainy supeer hot December and than from 80's 3 days ago jump right to 40's with the cold front, tnite 50's, tomorrow again close to 70, weekend 80. The worse now - IT IS RAINING past 3 hours and it is only some 52 at my balcony, hope Cattleyas will somehow pull through, luteola is mounted and can't be really moved or covered:-( They are amazing plants, and so many in this family is gorgeous, good luck with yours!

Very pretty show and great growing. I've lost several spikes this season due to the extreme cold. I've even had to move my warm growers away from the windowsills because the were showing signs of stress from the cold!

Thanks Nikkik, this one is growing and spiking great, however I have filiforme, which bloomed for me last time 2 years ago, and since then nothing, that bugger is driving me nuts, it has EVERYTHING it should, bright spot, watered from the bosom, feeding good, it grows great, it is healthy, but it is not spiking!

Very nice. Looks like you are on the path to a beautiful specimen plant.
