buying from Seattle Orchid

Hello all :waving, have any of you had experience with purchases from Seattle Orchid? I'm thinking about buying a plant from them and are wondering if they are a good quality supplier. Thanks for help!

Hi Rico, go ahead, I think many members will agree, they are reliable and good sellers, as a matter of a fact, I just placed order for 2 worm growing miniature Masdevallias yesterday because they do have sale on Masdevallias and Pleurothallis till the end of the year and it is my birthday:-)! I bought from them many plants last year, all came in great shape. And if you would ever had problem, you can just contact them, they do reply always fast. Make sure to create your account, you will be getting points for every purchase and than you can redeem them for cash value on your future orders, it is not much, but for every $100 you spend you'll get $5. The only sucky part was postage this time, I did order 2 mini plants and I think since they do charge everyone their winter protection packing now, my postage to Florida came to $15.99, which is kinda ridiculous, but what can we do:-)

I've purchased from Seattle Orchid too. I'm very happy with their plants and the after care of their customers. They are just great, great folks, but since you're in Minnesota and it's very cold at this time of year, I would wait until spring to make a purchase. The temps up north are very chilly right now, and we're supposed to get another arctic blast coming in the next couple of weeks. So, while I love this vendor and I have had nothing but the most wonderful experiences, because of your location, I advise you to wait until March or April to make a purchase.

Thanks, I think I will wait.

They are great sellers, all the plants I've gotten from them were large and very healthy. They'll watch the weather forecasts and ship only when safe and with heat packs. Of course if you want blooming orchids, you're always taking a chance especially in the winter no matter what precautions are taken.

Its been awhile that I ordered from them, I do like their plants and never had a orchid that died because of winter shipping, I might have just been lucky but I would do it again.

I think they will hold the order for you until a good time to ship if you're wanting to go ahead and take advantage of a sale.

TOMMYMIAMI: Happy Birthday!

As far as shipping goes, I think usps raised their rates! My shipping on Christmas packages this year was nuts!

Yes I just got an order just before Christmas from them. I too wanted to take advantage of the sale on Masdevallia's. Going to see if I can get these to grow for me.

They were great and the guy I talked to also re-potted them for me for free. Now how great is that.

I've had a good experience too.
