Fantastically grown, there was one that had showed at the judging centre, it wasn't nearly as nice as this one, its not on the AOS records yet either.

Taxonomy of Galeandras is difficult with many synonyms and many mislabeled plants. I don't want to be a weisenheimer nor do I want to blame anybody.
The species epithet juncus refers to the plant aspect. It is Latin for rush. There is a small group of terrestrial growing Galeandras with round subterrenean corms and very elongated rush-like stem and leaves. Galeandra juncea belongs to this section. I don't think it is cultivated anywhere in Europe.
The majority of Galeandras however grows as epiphytes. I think that you have the Peruvian Galeandra lacustris, which is eventually also found in neighbouring countries.
Whatever it is, it is a fantastic plant with lovely flowers several times a year. It can grow 3 times taller than actual size.
Thanks for posting.

thanks for info. flower really looks like your lacustris, but cane seems little bit different. I have found my galeandra in orchids and more at the beginning of this year labeled as juncea. I would not be surprised it is mislabeled, it would not be the first time in o&m.
it is not listed on the webshop. I have found it in the corner of their GH and it was the only one galeandra plant they had. I was very happy that I found new galeandra different than bauerii which I have for years and I like it very much.
It did not have flowers and I did not know how it will looks like. Now I am very happy because it is more beautiful than bauerii.
