Should I start watering

Hello OB. Been a lurker for a long time and I decide to say hello to you all. I have a question regarding my NOID den. I believe it is a nobile type. I let it rest and only water when it completely dried. Today I notice there is some plumb spot on it. I think it forming buds. So should I bring it in and resume water normally yet or still let it stay outside and rest?

It does look like a nobile hybrid.
All of mine are budded now and some are in bloom already, which is too early and odd. can't complain, though! :)

Well, what climate are you in??
If it doesn't freeze, I would leave it outside a bit longer.
The canes are plump, so you've doing great job with watering. You can continue to do as you have. water when the potting mix dries up.

I wonder what the flowers might look like.

I have Yamamoto hybrids, Oriental Smile 'Fantasy', Spring Dream 'Kumiko' are in bloom, and Sea Mary 'Snow King' and Country Girl 'Warabeuta' are budded.

I love these!

I live San Francisco Bay Area. I believe zone 8b or 9a. We are going to have every night this week going below freezing temp so I took them inside

As long as the potting mix is bone dry, they will take slight freezing without issues, although not recommended.

I think it is always better to be safe than sorry, so yeah, I would bring it in.

But sometimes, sudden increase in temperature may turn those little nubins into keikis. Keep them as cool as possible if you have such location in your house.

Or you can leave the plant outside but keep it covered up with a couple layers of plastic bags to keep it from being damaged if at all?

I guess I will bring it outside and put them under my cymbidiums
