Blooming Neostylls Lou Sneary 'Bluebird' Vanda

I have had this Vanda about 3 years. It's grown nicely and looks like there is another Vanda growing out of the side towards the bottom, not sure what to do about that. It's sweet fragrance is just wonderful and you can smell it 4 feet away, the flowers are almost blue, but purplish. It's in a Phal mix since its so dry here in Denver. I water 2 X a week in the Spring and Summer and a good watering once a week in the Winter. It gets north-easterly sun for about 3 hours behind a sheer, it can take the full sun but I have others near this Vanda that can't. I use Miracle Grow full strength every two weeks, or when I remember to! I have another Vanda which is only labeled "Vanda Tri-color", it was tiny when I got it and I am hoping it will bloom soon, I have had it over 2 year and its just in bark medium size. It's grown really well the last year. A certain party (being me) let it dry out in the sun and it got burned badly over a year ago. I wish I had more Vanda's as they do well here in Colorado, but, just not in the budget being disabled. I really like them even though the flowers don't last all that long, but, they bloom about 3 X a year.

Actually, now that I look at the pictures you can see the other vanda growing out of the mother plant in the first picture, it bloomed once for me, what should I do with it?

You should post this in the neofinetia section. This plant is a neo hybrid and you'd get more feedback there.

It's not a vanda? I am confused.

It's a vanda, but it's a subspecies of vanda, and that subspecies has a separate forum here that is VERY active.

It is very much a vanda with all the changing over of names. Nice looking plant. Just make sure you repot once a year at least; or when the medium starts to stay too damp for longer than usual. :)

This is what I meant. You'll get tons of feedback in this forum. Neofinetia lovers are practically a religion, in a good way. :D

Thank you folks, gotta do other things but you have helped me a lot, yes, I do need to find somewhere locally to buy bark and change some out. Our Lowes closed. Not sure if Home Creepo has any. I will repost in another forum later on. I had my windows open all week today we got snow and it cold, typical Denver weather, it'll get warm soon and the snow will disappear.

Just leave the plant to do its thing. Neos get many growths over time and the more growths means the more valuable and healthy the plant is. I would keep doing what you are doing with it. Good job and gorgeous flowers!

Stop by the neo section, there are some lovely hybrids there...
