Flower comparison; Restrepia trichoglossa & Restrepia antennifera
3 Attachment(s)
I receive a Restrepia tichoglossa from TOMMYMIAMI, about 3 weeks ago and its blooming. I also have Rest. antennifera blooming so I decided to do a comparison since the 2 species are so similar. Hopefully it will be useful to anyone who needs to +ID
The first 2 pictures are of Rest trichoglossa The other pictures are Rest antennifera trichoglossa is more narrow, all lines are parallel antennifera is wider, lines intersect at some points These are just my observations I don't know if its concrete :twocents: :) |
If you look at the images on IOSPE the opposite is true. The antennifera is narrow and larger. the trichoglossa is rounded at the lower end of the sepal.
I think these are 2 species that are regularly confused for one another. There are some differences in the leaf and stem sheaths. IOSPE PHOTOS antennifera IOSPE PHOTOS trichoglossa You can read about them and make up your mind as to what you have. |
I do not know difference much, I just know I like them a lot:-))))
