Oncidium ornitorhynchum (or is it sotoanum now?)

Saturday we had a lecture in our Orchid Society and the lecturer had some orchids for sale. I got me this Oncidium ornitorhynchum and two others (Tuberolabium quisumbingii and Sedirea japonica).
I think the Oncidium ornitorhynchum has changed into Oncidium sotoanum now.
I guess my living room will smell marvelous when all the hundreds of flowers are open.

The Tuberolabium also came with a flower spike. I hope she doesn't abort it due to change in her location.

Nice looking plants!

Those are very good choices...especially the first one, which I hope will retain its buds. If that is a heater which all three orchids are on, remove them ASAP, and put them in high light,& in a humidity tray. That is, if you want them to thrive & bloom! Good luck...BettyE.

Yes, that is a heater, but it is off. I only put them there for the picture, because it was so rainy on Sunday that I couldn't take pictures outside in the garden as I usually do. The place where I have them is about 2.5 m from the nearest heater and the heater is only on in the evenings at a temperature of not more than 20ºC (68 F).

Wonderful choices! I can't wait to see the pictures of the flowers! Too bad you can't capture and share the fragrance! :)

Great species--and yes, the correct name is Oncidium soatoanum. Good luck with your plant (it will appreciate a cool winter if you can provide it, especially during the evening). The fragrance will be quite nice once it flowers for you.

Nice plants! I have the Onc, and I love it. In fact I'm looking at the beautiful blooms on mine as I type. :)

The buds are starting to open, so I will soon be able to post a picture of it in full bloom.
