Trip to el Yunque

I had to go to San Juan to buy supplies and decided to swing over to El Yunque, a tropical rain forest in the national parks system. I did not see any orchids in bloom, but I did wee many with seed pods. I can't ID any of them but I saw Diachea, Epidendrum, Lepanthes, Pleurothallis, maxillaria, Spathoglottis, and some other genus I don't know what it is. I have to get a field guide. I also saw some bromeliads blooming and a green anole. The orchids were rather numerous especially on the tall sierra palms. The temp was about 15F less than the at the bottom of the mountain. Many orchids including pleurothallis and lepanthes were growing in full sun, as well as in deep shade.

This is so cool. I am already looking for someone who can take me to Everglades to take pics of our native ones:-)
