Blc. Superstar 'Boissy'
1 Attachment(s)
After night work sometimes I strolled through the greenhouses of a major orchid nursery nearby. There were houses filled with giant Cymbidiums for cut flower production. They also had some more orchids for sale.
One day 30 years back I took this yellow Cattleya home. Mainly not for the flowers but for the heavenly strong scent. A bit fresh of lemon, sweet and a bit spicy. I could tell it apart from a hundred other Cattleyas blindfolded. Just as a footnote I once had a Mormodes ephippilabia flowering. Same season, same colours and same scent.
The name is not registered, so I cannot say what was mixed together. But the clonal name 'Boissy' clearly referres to Boissy Saint Leger, where the nursery of Vacherot & Lecoufle is situated.
