Not sure what this is, but it's pretty. Any ideas?

I don't know but it's gorgeous, and we have almost the same kitchen! :bowing

Probably some kind of Miltassia hybrid. Very pretty
|
It should have 2 leads by spring...for some reason the pseudo-bulb that bloomed last winter didn't send off a new lead, but the one before it did, so after it finishes its blooms I'm going to give it a brief rest and then some superthrive. It looks a lot like the shelob but the spots on the labellum are just different and so is the color, seems like more of the classic miltonia coming through. possibly a shelob that selfed??
|
Thats very pretty! It looks like Miltassia C. M. Fitch ‘Dark Monarch’ or maybe Shelob webmaster. I'm very fond of my Shelob Tolkiens. They bloom regularly and grow like a weed.

Look up Mtssa. C. M. Fitch 'Izumi' . It looks a lot like that. Like an all rasberry shelob. I found this at Larrys Orchids in the Miltonia Alliance section. Their photo was taken with some more light.

I found it. Looks exactly like Degarmoara memoria Jay Yamada 'kauai'. It seems to also be placed under the nothogenus Aliceara in some places.
Not all no-I.D.'s are this lucky or identifiable. But when you pick something up at an orchid show, there's most likely going to be a name for it somewhere. I should have gotten it back then and written it down! |
