D.delicatum x J.Christie and D. spectablis new growths and spiking
 

Both of these plants had several new growths this summer while hanging outside in the trees esp. D.delicatum x J. Christie. It appears that there are tiny spikes starting to appear at the center of the last two leaves. What should I be doing to continue the process ? I have a sunrm. and some lighting. I have not noticed anything with D. spectablis except for two large new growths but I am hopeful that I will see some sign of spiking.

Yeah I got two growths out of my Spectabile, but I believe it isn't time for it to bloom yet.

Any growing ideas for his winter so I may get a spike?

I believe for spectabile fertilizer should be withheld from end of summer until spring.
