Zelenkoa onusta (aka Onc. onustum)

Does anyone here grow this orchid? I have a small division and would like to know when it is supposed to be rested? How do you grow yours, etc.

Hi. I am curious about this too. I have a zelenkocidium. I wasn't aware that zelenkoa need a rest, and I wonder if it is needed for my hybrid as well.

I have one for about 4-5 years now- I never have notice a true rest. It alway growing pseudobulbs or roots. It is blooming now. The big one at the National Botanic Garden in DC always has flower spikes.

Sharry, what kind of care are you giving yours? How much water does it get?

I grow it on a mount that is anchored in a clay pot since it likes to climb. The media in the pot is mostly gravel. Outdoors In hot weather it is misted every day. In cool weather, indoors - when I remember.

Nice plant. Mine is still quite small & may be too small to bloom yet? It just put up a third growth. It is growing well with lots of new roots.

Good luck with it

Good luck with it, Blue! It is a nice compact growing species that does not need pampering.
