Angraecum season
anyone else got Angraecum's starting to spike up? :waving
I found a spike on an Angraecum veitchii and 2 spikes on a angraecum eburneum var. superbum today..heh never had any of these bloom before... My green and white flowers are all starting to work for me.. |
How big is your eburneum? Mine is about 2' tall with multigrowths and has yet to bloom
|
Good growing!!! Your greenhouse will smell heavenly. I just got didieri recently so it's probably missing its former home and I'll have to wait to next year.

I have some pics I can post tomorrow of them. The eburneum superbum is a single growth at least 3 ft across from leaf tip to leaf tip. I havent measured the spread but it takes up a lot of space. It needs to bloom :)..er else..
I have 7 or 8 Angraecum/Aerangis and they really seem to do very well in 70% shaded light morning to night. The west side gets hot so they are kept on the east side which is cooler than 100. 70 and 80s at night. Water em when they get towards the dry side but retains a little moisture for cooling the roots off. If you let them get too hot the roots wont like you. Then they will spend their time making more roots looking for water rather than making blooms :twocents: Makes sense to me :goodluck: |

Congratulations! I really love the night fragrance. :)

Love my angraecoids, but it's not flowering time for mine at the moment. I actually wasn't quite sure when to expect flowers, but my magdalenae flowered in March or so, and I wasn't sure if that was a bit unusual or if she was on track. Looks like she's on track then...if they flower this time of the year on the northern hemisphere.
